One of the major traditions of West Bengal which has had a socio-economic impact on the functioning of the state is the Handloom industry. There are districts such as Murshidabad, Nadia, Burdwan, Hooghly etc. which are famous for handloom industries. Amongst these districts, Nadia is famous for certain types of handloom sarees like Tangail, Jamdani, Dhakai, Buti, Shantipuri etc. which have acquired their own identity in India and abroad.
This is one of those magnificent handloom sarees made by our own . The design is known as ‘Sakuntala Handloom 2’ on Cotton Silk. These sarees look enormously beautiful on every occasion and are a must have in one’s Almirah.
Fabric:
Cotton silk is made of fibers that are procured from the flax plant. Ideal for summers, this fabric is known for being extremely sturdy, durable as well as highly absorbent.
